Description Family Acoraceae Originating from Asia. Invaluable bright tufts of slender grass-like blades of foliage are borne in fan-like clumps, making an exceptional ground-covering mass of softly textured foliage. Ideal in shady spots and damp soil, even in boggy conditions, or as a marginal plant in ponds. Its brilliant deep golden colour stands out even more in the shade of trees and shrubs, perfect for woodland and oriental-style gardens. Semi-evergreen in mild winters it can also be grown in pots where the subtle detail of its green-striped foliage can be appreciated at close quarters. Easy to grow in sun or shade in all but thin dry soils. Height and spread after 5 – 10 years 50cm x 50cm.
